The GE Fanuc IC693CHS392 is a 25-pin female D-type 10-slot I/O Bus Expansion Baseplate designed to serve as a local chassis for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) within the Series 90-30 framework. This baseplate enables local I/O expansion, allowing users to extend I/O capabilities to additional locations within a distance of up to 50 feet (15.24 meters). By facilitating the integration of more I/O modules under the supervision of a single processor, it enhances overall control for smaller PLC systems where I/O devices are situated close to the local chassis.

It is essential to note that the IC693CHS392 cannot function independently; it is intended to be mounted within a compatible CPU baseplate. This baseplate features a right-mounted 25-pin female D-type I/O Bus Expansion connector for seamless connections to other expansion baseplates. Each baseplate is equipped with 10 slots, sequentially numbered from 1 to 10, for module installation. The maximum number of expansion baseplates that can be utilized is dependent on the CPU type, with CPUs 331, 340, and 341 supporting up to 4 expansions, while CPUs 350 and above allow for 7.

A Rack Number Selection DIP switch must be configured, and a common ground connection is necessary.
