The IC693CBL312 is a 0.5-foot (0.15 meters) I/O bus expansion cable designed for use with GE Fanuc's Series 90-30 control systems. This continuous shielded cable features a male 25-pin D connector on one end and a dual-headed connector on the other, which includes both a female and a male connector, effectively forming a wye configuration. Its primary function is to extend the I/O bus, accommodating either remote or expansion baseplates, thereby enhancing the system's I/O capacity and flexibility in baseplate placement relative to the CPU. When configuring an I/O expansion system, a maximum of seven IC693CBL312 cables may be utilized, with the total cable length between the CPU baseplate and the last expansion baseplate not exceeding 50 feet (15 meters) to prevent potential system malfunctions. To install the cable, connect the single male connector to the 25-pin female port on the CPU baseplate, ensuring it is plugged into the right-hand side. Subsequently, connect the male head of the dual connector to the 25-pin female port on the first expansion baseplate. Users are advised to always power down the system before connecting or disconnecting cables to avoid damage to the PLC system.
