The GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 is a critical interface module designed for the Series 90-30 PLC system, enabling seamless communication over an Ethernet network. Operating at a frequency of 2.5 MHz, this module functions as an I/O FIP remote module, facilitating the connection of various devices to the FIP bus. The front panel is equipped with status LEDs that provide real-time feedback on the Genius Bus Controller (GBC) as well as other communication activities; a steady OK signal indicates a functional GBC, while the COM signal reflects the communication bus status. Blinking LEDs serve as an alert to potential bus errors, turning off entirely in the event of a bus failure or if the PLC or CPU fails to transmit the required configuration signal. The IC693BEM335 supports both generic and remote devices, enhancing operational capacity through its dual nine-pin connectors, which allow for the attachment of two FIP buses. This expands the overall bus capacity and optimizes I/O operations. Additionally, the 15-pin serial port facilitates firmware updates via a connected computer.
