The IC693APU301 is a Single Axis Positioning Module (APM) designed for integration with the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC. This fully programmable, intelligent motion control module allows users to seamlessly combine high-performance motion control with PLC logic functionalities within a single system. The APM is configurable for either standard or follower mode, providing flexibility based on user requirements. In standard mode, it enables the integration of advanced motion control with PLC logic, while the follower mode offers high-performance electronic gearing suitable for master/slave applications. Setup is facilitated through user-friendly software, allowing for easy selection of the desired mode.

When paired with the Series 90-30 PLC, the IC693APU301 forms a cohesive control solution, handling direct communication with both drive units and machinery. The PLC efficiently manages data transfer between the APM and associated tables, and also features connectivity for operators and instruments for enhanced operational monitoring and control. This module can be installed in any Series 90-30 CPU, remote baseplate, or expansion slot, with support for up to three APM modules in an embedded CPU and up to eight in a modular CPU configuration. Additionally, the APM allows for the storage and execution of multiple motion programs when the appropriate software, preferably VersaPro, is employed.

The APM is equipped with a user-friendly faceplate featuring two high-density 24-pin connectors for servo connections. Each connection is streamlined through a short cable terminal block, which includes a 24-pin I/O connector and a 25-pin D-type terminal block. Various connector kits are also available for order, enhancing installation convenience. Technical specifications include a servo loop update time of 1 millisecond and compatibility with both standard and follower operating modes, making the IC693APU301 a versatile choice for precise axis control applications.
