The IC200MDL930 is an output module within the GE Automation VersaMax family, featuring eight Form A relay output points suitable for both alternating and direct current loads. When the central processing unit is active and the corresponding output logic bit is set to “1,” the contact points close, enabling signal output. This module is integrated with the network interface unit and central processing unit, both of which execute intelligent processing on the eight bits of output data. The operational power is supplied directly from the rack-mounted backplane, drawing 245 milliamps from a 5V output backplane; however, an external power source is required for positive or negative load switching applications. Each output point can handle a minimum load current of 10 milliamps and is characterized by open contacts, eliminating output leakage current. The relays consist of a fixed coil and a moving armature, with contact surfaces made of silver alloy. The ON/OFF response time for the IC200MDL930 is 10 milliseconds, which is slightly longer compared to other modules in the VersaMax series, with a switching frequency of 20 cycles per minute for inductive loads. Additionally, this module provides channel-to-channel isolation, although it does not include internal protection measures such as fuses or snubbers, and does not require thermal derating.
