Description

The IC200MDD840 is a discrete input and output module from General Electric Intelligent Platforms, part of the versatile VersaMax series. This module features 20 discrete inputs and 12 relay outputs, allowing for robust control and monitoring in industrial applications. The 20 input points are configured in two rows of 10, with options for both positive logic and sourcing-type inputs. Each input point receives electrical current from connected devices and returns it to a common point. The relay outputs are organized into two groups of six, each capable of handling a maximum load of eight amperes. The physical dimensions of the IC200MDD840 are 4.3 inches (110 millimeters) in width, 2.63 inches (66.8 millimeters) in height, and 1.956 inches (50 millimeters) in depth, excluding carrier height or mating connections. This module draws power directly from the rack-mounted connection backplane, while an external power supply is required for output loads. The input voltage is 24 volts direct current (VDC), with output voltage capabilities ranging from 0 to 125 VDC (nominals of 5, 24, and 125 VDC) and 0 to 265 volts alternating current (VAC) (nominals of 120 and 240 VAC). When the inputs and outputs are activated, the current consumption is between 2.0 to 5.5 milliamps, reverting to 0 to 0.5 milliamps in the off state. Processing functions are managed by either a central processing unit (CPU) or a network interface unit (NIU). It is important to note that the IC200MDD840 does not provide channel-to-channel isolation and lacks internal protection features such as fuses or snubbers.
