Description

The IC200ALG266 is a TÜV-approved analog input module from GE Fanuc, designed for the Versamax series and rated for use in SIL2 applications. This module features 15 single-ended channels with a 15-bit voltage resolution, providing an effective interface for current inputs while sharing a common return. It derives its power from the backplane power supply, eliminating the need for an external power source during operation; however, power for connected transceivers must be provided externally. The IC200ALG266 facilitates intelligent processing through the module’s CPU or Network Interface Unit (NIU), allowing for the transmission of 15 words of analog input data. Integrated protection circuitry safeguards the input sense resistors, automatically limiting input current to a maximum of 40mA in the event of an accidental connection to +24V field power. Furthermore, the module opens the input loop when powered off, ensuring that any connected transmitters capable of open wire fault detection will signal an open wire fault, thus preventing erroneous signals to any external receivers in series. The module is equipped with an LED indicator, which illuminates green to confirm backplane power presence, proper functioning of internal field power, successful configuration, or recognition on the backplane. The IC200ALG266 also monitors various fault conditions, reporting loss of internal power for field-side circuits and open wire faults for each channel when operating in 4-20mA mode. Additionally, it utilizes a built-in mechanism to detect A/D conversion malfunctions, ceasing scans and indicating an Internal Hardware fault after three consecutive detection failures, necessitating a power cycle or module replacement to reset. The module supports a current range of 4-20 mA and 0-20 mA with a 7.5 ms update rate and an input filter response of 24 Hz ±20%. It requires a power consumption of 100 mA from the +5V bus.
