The IC200ALG261 is an advanced 8-channel, 15-bit analog input module from the GE Fanuc VersaMax Series, designed to interface with eight differential voltage inputs. This module operates without the need for an external power source, drawing power directly from the backplane supply; however, external power is required for user transceivers. It features a group of eight differential input channels with 15-bit conversion resolution and offers software-configurable selection capabilities. The IC200ALG261 is rated for continuous input logic of 250 VAC, incorporates LED indicators for status monitoring, and provides a 5V output with a maximum backplane current consumption of 200mA. The module includes diagnostics to indicate any loss of internal power, but users should be aware that severe RF interference may impact accuracy to within +/- 1 percent. Proper installation is critical; all equipment must be inspected for damage prior to installation, and incorrect hot insertion of the module can disrupt operation of adjacent modules on the same backplane. For optimal performance, shielded twisted cables are recommended for connecting the analog channels, with grounding ideally done at the source device. If this is not feasible, grounding through the I/O module itself is necessary. Additionally, an auxiliary I/O terminal strip can be added to accommodate additional shield connections. The IC200ALG261 is compatible with multiple firmware versions, including PLC CPU version 2.1 or later and Ethernet NIU EBI001 version 1.10 or later.
