Description

The Fuji Electric BU90-4E is an external dynamic braking unit (DBU) for the FRENIC-MEGA (G2) variable frequency drive (VFD). For drives above built-in braking transistor capacity, this unit manages regenerative energy from the motor to an external braking resistor, enabling controlled deceleration of large, high-inertia loads.

Monitors the DC bus voltage and activates the braking resistor circuit when voltage rises above a safe threshold — during rapid deceleration or when the load overhauling the motor.

Required for large cranes, hoists, winders, and high-inertia fans. Must be paired with a compatible external braking resistor. Genuine Fuji Electric OEM accessory.
