The National Instruments SCXI-1001 Chassis is a robust and low-noise solution designed to accommodate up to 12 SCXI modules, featuring three internal analog buses. This versatile chassis not only provides power to the modules but also manages all trigger, timing, and signal routing between SCXI modules and digitizers, ensuring seamless integration for various applications. Up to eight SCXI-1001 chassis can be daisy-chained for high-channel-count applications when used with a single E Series digitizer, facilitating future expansion.

To accommodate users across different regions, the SCXI-1001 offers seven power options, each designated by unique part numbers, and can be reconfigured for international use. It is fully compatible with major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and LabVIEW Real-Time (RT), and integrates effortlessly with NI-DAQ 7 and NI-SWITCH driver software, simplifying configuration and operational processes. The chassis supports programming via various application development environments (ADEs), such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, or VI Logger, significantly enhancing development efficiency.

Designed for versatility, the SCXI-1001 supports optional front or rear rack-mountable configurations and utilizes a forced air cooling mechanism, making it suitable for rack, panel, or portable mounting. It features the SCXIbus architecture, enabling automatic backplane connections between installed modules for digital and analog signal communication. The SCXI-1001 also synchronizes timing between the data acquisition device and each module, allowing for input channel scanning rates of up to 333 kS/s for each DAQ device.

With physical dimensions of 9.8 x 17.3 x 7.0 inches and a weight of 14 pounds 14 ounces, the SCXI-1001 operates within a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C for normal function and –20 to 70 °C for storage. Although the SCXI-1001 has been designated obsolete by National Instruments, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
