Description
The Fuji Electric DB7.5-2 is a dynamic braking resistor sized for 7.5 kW (10 HP) Fuji Electric variable frequency drives on 200V class supplies. It is the matching external braking resistor for FRENIC series drives, used together with the drive's built-in braking transistor or an external braking unit to absorb regenerative energy during deceleration.
When a VFD decelerates a motor, the motor acts as a generator and returns energy to the drive's DC bus. Without a braking resistor this regenerative energy raises the bus voltage and trips an overvoltage fault. The DB7.5-2 dissipates that energy as heat, enabling fast, repeatable, controlled deceleration in hoists, cranes, centrifuges, high-inertia fans and pumps, and winding applications. Install in a well-ventilated location; the resistor generates significant heat during braking cycles. Genuine Fuji Electric OEM accessory.
