The ABB ACH550-VDR-038A-4 is an ACH550 series variable frequency drive rated 25 HP (38 A) on 380-480 VAC, 3-phase input. The ACH550 line was ABB's dedicated HVAC drive family, widely applied on supply and return fans, air handling units, cooling tower fans, and centrifugal pumps in commercial buildings.
This VDR configuration is a vertical E-Clipse bypass package with disconnect switch: an electronically controlled bypass lets the motor run across the line if the drive is removed from service.
HVAC-focused features include embedded BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU, Johnson Controls N2, and Siemens FLN communication protocols with no add-on cards, two internal PID loops, a real-time clock with timer functions, and preloaded HVAC application macros. The ACH550 series has been discontinued by the manufacturer; the ACH580 series is the current-generation replacement.
