Description

The National Instruments 780059-01 PXI Sound and Vibration Module, also known as PXI-4495, is engineered for high-channel-count sound and vibration applications. This module features 16 input channels, each capable of simultaneous sampling, and offers exceptional 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion utilizing delta-sigma ADCs. With a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kS/s, the 780059-01 is optimized for capturing dynamic and rapidly changing signals. Each input channel comes with software-selectable IEPE signal conditioning, facilitating the integration of microphones, accelerometers, and various transducers. The module is designed with built-in antialiasing filters that automatically adjust to match the selected sampling rate.

The 780059-01 allows for precise input ranges through two selectable gain settings, offering input voltages from ±1 V to ±10 V and up to +20 dB of gain for enhanced adaptability. Programmable analog triggers with configurable levels and slopes, along with digital triggers supporting 5 V TTL signals, ensure comprehensive triggering options for diverse applications. The input impedance is maintained at 10 MΩ, while overvoltage protection is integrated to safeguard against ±30 V on the positive terminal and ±5 V on the negative terminal. This module minimizes interchannel phase mismatch, crucial for applications in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis, as well as dynamic structural testing.

Compatible with both PXI and PXI Express systems that support 3.3 V and 5 V signal environments, the 780059-01 requires power inputs of +5 V at 800 mA, +3.3 V at 1700 mA, +12 V at 400 mA, and –12 V at 100 mA. It ensures reliable operation in environmental conditions, with a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and a maximum operational altitude of 2000 meters. The module can be stored in temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 70 °C and adheres to various safety and EMC standards. With a net weight of 167 g (5.9 oz.), the NI 780059-01 is a robust solution for sophisticated sound and vibration measurement tasks.
