The Mitsubishi Electric HF-KP43 is a low inertia, small capacity AC servo motor in the HF-KP series, rated 0.4 kW at 3000 r/min and supplied without an electromagnetic brake and a straight shaft. It is designed for use with Mitsubishi MR-J3 series servo amplifiers in closed-loop motion control systems.
Motors in this series are commonly found in CNC machine tools, packaging machinery, material handling systems, robotics, and general factory automation where accurate positioning and repeatable speed control are required. This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer but remains widely used in installed equipment, making it a common replacement item.

The model HF-KP43 is a servo motor designed and manufactured by Mitsubishi. The servo motor can function with several servo units or amplifiers. The model features an ultra-low moment of inertia and has a low capacity. A nameplate with the model number, output power, weight, insulation class, speed, and serial number is affixed to this general-purpose servo motor.
The model HF-KP43 generates a rated power of 0.4 kW while consuming a rated current of 2.7 A. The rated torque generated by the model is 184 Nm, and it can rotate at a rated speed of 3000 revolutions per minute. The model has a moment of inertia of 0.42 x 10-4 kgm2 and an instantaneous permissible speed of 6900 revolutions per minute. The applicable servo and drive units compatible with the model are MR-J3- 40A/B/B-RJ006/T and MR-J3- 40A1/B1/B1-RJ006/T1, respectively. The model weighs 1.5 kilograms and generates a maximum torque of 3.8 Nm with a maximum current consumption of 8.1 A while rotating at a top speed of 6000 revolutions per minute.
The servo motor HF-KP43 contains a speed/position detector, similar to absolute or incremental encoders. The motor is enclosed in housing suitable for natural cooling to deal with excessive heat. The housing has a dust and fluid protection rating of IP65 and an insulation class of 130(B). The model has a power rate of 38.6 kW/s at a continuously rated torque.
The HF-KP43 servo motor must be operated at a temperature range of 0 to 40 degree centigrade with relative humidity within 10 to 80 percent non-condensing. The maximum height the model can be installed is 1000 meters above sea level without degrading the performance. Above this level, the model may perform with a decrease in performance. The model should be used indoors, and the ambiance must be free from corrosive gas, dust, and dirt. The temperature at which the model should be stored is between -15 to 70 degrees centigrade, and the humidity must be between 10 to 90 percent.
During operation, the servo motor's outside may reach temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius, depending on how it was set up and how it's being used. Any direction is OK for mounting the model, but if you're going horizontally, make sure the connecting piece is pointing down. When mounting the model HF-KP43 vertically or obliquely, leave some slack in the connecting cable. When installing the servo motor HF-KP43, use spring washers and ensure that the nuts are fully tightened to avoid vibration-induced loosening. Don't put the servo motor on anything that may catch fire. Installation atop or near combustibles increases the risk of smoke and fire.
The HF-KP43 model's manual should be read thoroughly before setting up, using, maintaining, or checking the device. To do so may lead to the model being used properly. Ensure the servo amplifier and motor are connected to the ground to prevent electrical shock.
Wires must not be bent, twisted, crushed, or harmed. However, it might cause an electrical shock. To prevent electrical shock, you should insulate the terminal connections of the motor's power source. Keep your hands off any moving components when the servo motor HF-KP43 is running.
