Description
The ProSoft Technology MVI56-MCM is a Modbus serial communication module for 1756-format in-chassis platforms. It provides master/slave Modbus RTU/ASCII communication, letting the host controller poll or serve data to Modbus devices such as drives, meters, and instrumentation over its application serial ports.
The module requires an 800 mA backplane supply and occupies a single slot in the processor rack; it can be installed in local or remote racks, with remote installations communicating back to the processor over the plant network. Necessary cables and adapters are included for immediate service.
