The National Instruments USB-4431 is a highly versatile Sound and Vibration Device, ideal for demanding measurement applications in portable testing scenarios. Featuring four analog input channels and one analog output channel, this device utilizes IEPE sensors to provide high-accuracy measurements across an analog input dynamic range of 100 dB. Each of the four pseudodifferential analog input channels supports simultaneous sampling with a maximum rate of 102.4 kS/s.
The USB-4431 includes 24-bit ADC resolution for precision data acquisition and is equipped with BNC connectors for each input. The analog output channel extends the frequency response from DC to 43.5 kHz and offers robust protection against short circuits, with an output range of ±3.5V and a load capacity of 1 kΩ. This device supports comprehensive analysis capabilities, including Power Spectra, Zoom FFTs, and Fractional-Octave analysis.
Additionally, the USB-4431 features digital I/O lines compatible with 5V TTL, providing +5.6 V/–0.5 V input protection for external trigger integration. Designed for seamless operation with NI-DAQmx driver software, it is compatible with leading software environments including LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, and LabWindows. The device is compact, measuring 142 mm × 180 mm × 38 mm (5.6 in. × 7.1 in. × 1.5 in.) and weighing 675 g (1.5 lbs), with an operating and storage temperature range of –30 °C to 70 °C. Although the USB-4431 has entered the Mature stage of the NI Product Life Cycle, it will continue to be available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
