National Instruments SCXI-1000

The National Instruments SCXI-1000 is a robust and low-noise chassis designed for integration with SCXI modules, facilitating the organization, initialization, and routing of signals between various modules. This chassis supports interfacing up to eight SCXI-1000 units with a single device or multifunction I/O modules, making it ideal for multi-channel applications in complex frameworks and future expansions. It offers versatility with seven power configurations to accommodate different electrical standards globally, allowing operation with line voltages of 100, 120, 220, and 240 VAC. The voltage selection is easily managed through a switch on the power entry module.

In multiplexed mode, Analog Input (AI) channels are combined into one module output, enabling a single E/M Series DAQ device to access multiple multiplexed outputs seamlessly. Alternatively, in parallel mode, it necessitates a distinct E/M Series DAQ device for each module in order to directly connect every output channel. The chassis can be configured to one of 32 possible addresses, determined by five switches on the front panel of Slot 0, which represent values ranging from 1 to 16 when activated.

Measuring 9.8 x 7.7 x 7.0 inches and weighing approximately 10 ounces, the SCXI-1000 has a power dissipation rate of 7 W per slot and operates effectively in environments ranging from 0 to 50 °C for operational conditions and -20 to 70 °C for storage. Although the SCXI-1000 has been designated as an obsolete model, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
