National Instruments SC-2055

The National Instruments SC-2055 Cable Adapter facilitates the integration of signal conditioning accessories with National Instruments Data Acquisition (DAQ) devices. This adapter serves to convert the I/O connector signals from DAQCard-700 and PC-LPM-16/PnP devices into standard pin connections suitable for signal conditioning modules. Users can connect a DAQ device to the SC-2055 using a type NB1, 50-pin ribbon cable. It is important to power off the host computer while making this connection; one end of the ribbon cable can be connected at J1 or J2 of the SC-2055, with the other end attached to the installed DAQ device in the user’s computer. For connecting to signal conditioning accessories, the SC-2055 requires a type NB7, 26-pin ribbon cable, which links the adapter to the 5B Series backplane or any SC-206X Series boards. An 8-channel SSR Series backplane can also be interfaced using a 26-conductor ribbon cable. The SC-2055 features two 50-pin ribbon-cable connectors that are interconnected pin-by-pin, allowing for daisy chaining to additional 50-pin accessories. Moreover, the adapter includes four 26-pin ribbon-cable connectors for compatibility with the 5B Series analog signal conditioning modules and has digital ports designed for use with SC-206X Series and SSR Series modules. Although the SC-2055 has been designated as obsolete by National Instruments, it remains accessible for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
