National Instruments PXI-6711

The National Instruments PXI-6711 (Part Number: 777794-01) is a PXI Analog Output Module designed to replace various standalone instruments, including proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers and low-speed waveform generators. This versatile module features four analog output channels, each capable of generating standard waveforms such as square, sine, and sawtooth, as well as complex signals for applications like stimulus-response testing, power supply control, and deterministic high-speed control. The PXI-6711 provides an update rate of up to 1 MS/s with a resolution of 12 bits across a voltage range of -10 V to 10 V. In addition to its analog outputs, the module includes eight 5 V TTL/CMOS digital I/O lines and two 24-bit, 20 MHz counter/timers, along with capabilities for digital triggering and external timing. Users have the ability to configure each digital I/O line independently for input or output, ensuring flexibility during operation.

The PXI-6711 allows for the connection of each digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to an internal 10 V reference or an external reference signal via the EXTREF pin, which should remain within ±11 V. This module utilizes the RTSI bus to facilitate inter-device timing signal communication and features Programmable Function Input (PFI) pins for external device interfacing.
