The National Instruments PXI-1000 is an 8-slot PXI mainframe chassis designed for high-performance industrial applications. It features a sophisticated backplane combined with a reliable power supply and a versatile structural design, ensuring optimal maintainability and a reduced Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Compliant with the PXI Specification Revision 1.0, the PXI-1000 incorporates advanced synchronization and timing capabilities. This chassis delivers 300 watts of usable power within a compact 3U form factor and supports a universal AC input with auto-frequency and voltage ranging functionality. A modular, removable power supply featuring a mean time before failure (MTBF) of 90,000 hours adds to its reliability. The PXI-1000 includes a user-friendly On/Off switch on the front panel for convenient operation. It is compatible with both CompactPCI and PXI modules, with the system controller slot located in slot 1 and the star trigger slot in slot 2, providing dedicated trigger links for each peripheral slot. The chassis independently transmits the PXI_CLK10 (10 MHz system clock signal) to all peripheral slots and can accept external clock signals via the PXI_CLK10_IN pin. Additionally, a fan speed selector switch located on the rear panel allows users to adjust cooling performance between high and low settings. Although the PXI-1000 has been marked obsolete by National Instruments, it will remain available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves.
