National Instruments PCI-6533

The National Instruments PCI-6533, also referred to as the PCI-DIO-32HS, is a high-performance digital I/O device engineered for integration within CompactPCI or PXI chassis and PCI buses. This jumperless and switchless device leverages the NI proprietary MITE PCI interface to facilitate bus-master operations and high-speed DMA (Direct Memory Access) transfers. The PCI-6533 features the NI DAQ-DIO chip, which supports robust functionalities including handshaking, pattern generation, and dual-channel digital input and output. With the ability to configure its 32 digital I/O lines into four 8-bit ports, this device allows varying configurations that include two 8-bit, two 16-bit, or one 32-bit grouping. Each digital channel supports selectable data path widths, 16 and 32-bit counters, and offers a maximum sample rate of 20 MHz, delivering high-speed performance with 24 mA output capabilities.

The PCI-6533 is designed for advanced applications requiring synchronized systems, utilizing the RTSI bus or PXI trigger bus for efficient timing signals coordination. The I/O operations and data management occur through a single 68-pin male SCSI-II connector, and the device features programmable power-on states for both data and control lines. Compatibility extends to a variety of software tools, including LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, through the NI-DAQ driver software. Its operational temperature range is set between 0 to 55° C, and the compact physical dimensions measure 6.9 x 4.2 inches.
