National Instruments PCI-5412

The National Instruments PCI-5412 is a high-performance Arbitrary Waveform Generator designed for demanding signal generation applications. Available in three variations with differing onboard memory capacities—8 MB (part number 779177-01), 32 MB (part number 779177-02), and 256 MB (part number 779177-03)—the PCI-5412 supports versatile test system configurations by integrating with digital waveform generators and other digital processing units, enabling multichannel generation through the synchronization of multiple devices. The PCI-5412 can download waveforms at a remarkable speed of 84 MB/s from a host computer, surpassing traditional GPIB-based instruments.

With a 14-bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 100 MS/s, the PCI-5412 exhibits an analog bandwidth of 20 MHz. Enhanced waveform quality is achieved through digital interpolation, while users have the flexibility to disable various filtering options to produce sharp waveform outputs. The device supports a range of signal types, including video signals, beats, and square waves, resulting in low pulse deviation and rapid rise/fall times. It offers four advanced trigger modes—single, continuous, burst, and stepped—facilitating diverse testing applications.

Equipped with T-Clock synchronization technology, the PCI-5412 can synchronize with other PCI-5412 units, as well as high-speed digitizers and digital waveform generators, enabling applications that require extensive channel configurations like component video generation. The PCI-5412 has been designated as a mature product by National Instruments, but it remains available for purchase and support through Apex Waves.
