The LV-222-511-000 PXI MIL-STD-1553 Interface Module, developed by Astronics Ballard Technology and offered by National Instruments, is a versatile 2-channel interface designed specifically for military standard communications. This module integrates one OmniBus II PXI board capable of supporting two distinct or identical interface boards, allowing for the expansion to a 4-channel system when utilized with an additional module, thus enabling access to multiple MIL-STD-1553 avionics databusses. The LV-222-511-000 features three operational modes: Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor Operation, and Bus Control, which enhance its versatility in various applications. Advanced functionalities such as protocol error injection and multi-terminal simulation (accommodating up to 32 terminals) further augment its performance capabilities. The module allows for individual software configuration of the RT response time and employs a selectable Clock Switch for protocol circuitry, facilitating the option to use either the PXI connector’s clock input or the internal 100 MHz oscillator. This is easily adjustable via a dedicated slide switch. The discrete outputs can handle currents of up to 200 mA and are designed as open-ground switches with a voltage tolerance of up to 35 VDC. Additionally, the module provides 16 discrete I/O channels that can be configured for general-purpose digital I/O tasks. The LV-222-511-000 is housed in a compact 3U form factor and weighs 3.5 lbs. For further information and technical resources, user and maintenance manuals are available for download. For pricing, please contact a sales representative.
