The Honeywell Spyder 4 IO is a unitary, programmable, individually licensed controller equipped with one user interface, one analog output and two digital outputs. It operates on the Echelon LonWorks Network Protocol and features a real-time clock as well as a Sylk Bus for compatibility with Sylk-Enabled sensors.
An assortment of built-in zone control functions enhance the capabilities of the Spyder 4 IO. These include a remote wall module interface, a scheduler, and a microbridge air flow sensor with dual integral restrictor design, available only on specific models. This sensor allows easy user access to air flow inputs. Included additionally in certain models is an actuator that mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, offering up to 44 lb-in torque, a 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60 Hz.
The Spyder 4 IO simplifies controller installation and replacement by linking all wiring connections to removable terminal blocks. The controller housing and the actuator both have a UL plenum rating. The device uses a high-speed 78 Kilobit Free Topology Transceiver network to facilitate communications. While capable of standalone operation, the Spyder 4 IO can also communicate via LonWorks Bus Network.
A maximum of 98 controllers per Q7751A,B router can be configured as a repeater. The controller is field configurable and programmable for control, input, and output functions, all of which are facilitated by the NIAGARA FRAMEWORK software. Other features include user-defined network variables, function block engine, significant event notification, periodic update capability, and failure detect when network inputs are not detected within their configurable time frame.
The Spyder 4 IO operates on a power supply of 24 VAC, within a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC. It can withstand operating temperatures from -40 F to 150 F. The device is approved by UL/cUL under UL916 standards, with a plenum rating that meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, class B requirements. It is best suited for applications involving fan coils, heat pumps, and unit heaters. The device can be mounted on a DIN rail.
