The Honeywell Spyder 21 IO is a unitary and programmable controller offering BACnet MS/TP and RS-485 individually licensed facilities. It features a real-time clock, a Sylk Bus and has a versatile EIA-485 communication network that supports baud rates ranging from 96 to 1152 kbits/s.
Both the controller and actuator are UL Plenum rated, providing reliable and compliant operation. Key to its functionality is the incorporation of the Sylk Bus that facilitates use with Sylk-Enabled Sensors. This controller offers support for up to 40 controllers per BACnet MS/TP segment, though a count under 30 is recommended for optimal performance.
The Spyder 21 IO also houses a function block engine, which equips the application designer with the ability to program the controller for a variety of HVAC applications. Built-in zone control functions include a remote wall module interface and a dedicated scheduler.
Noteworthy is the inclusion of a Microbridge airflow sensor with a dual integral restrictor design. This feature allows for convenient user access to airflow sensor inputs. The actuator mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft and provides up to 44 lb-in (5 Nm) torque, 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60 Hz.
All wiring connections are designed to removable terminal blocks, simplifying controller installation and replacement. This controller works optimally within a range of 20 to 30 VAC and operates at temperatures between -40 F to 150 F.
