Honeywell Modutrol IV Motor, Non-Spring Return - M7284Q1082/U

The Honeywell Modutrol IV Motor is a non-spring return model with a 150-inch pound torque rating. It accepts an input voltage of 24/120/230V and uses 15 VA power with an impressive modulating 4-20 mA control signal. A salient feature of this product is the inclusion of a transformer.

One of the unique factors of this model is the integral junction box. It extends a NEMA 3 weather protection, particularly when the motor is mounted upright, ensuring more reliable performance even in challenging environments. The model's versatility is further showcased with options to adjust start (Zero) and span settings. The motors are compatible with both normally open or normally closed valves and dampers, adding to the user convenience.

In the face of power failures, an integral spring returns the motor back to its normal position, a safeguard available in the spring return models only. Both the motor and circuitry function optimally at 24 VAC while the quick-connect terminals are a standard feature with the availability of a screw terminal adapter as well.

Users can leverage the field-adjustable stroke (ranging from 90 to 160 degrees) while an adapter bracket is on offer to assist with matching the shaft height of older motors. Moreover, factory mounted or field-added integral auxiliary switches are an optional perk. The models contain dual shafts that are slotted and tapped on both ends and are complemented by auxiliary switch cams.

One of its technical highlights is the fixed torque that remains consistent throughout the entire voltage range. This motor model features a power consumption of 15 VA and is designed to withstand operating conditions ranging from -40F to 150F (-40C to 60C). Electrical connections are via screw terminals, and the complete unit is housed within a robust die-cast aluminum case. Lastly, it supports the usage of up to 2 auxiliary switches.
