The Modutrol IV Motor, Non-Spring Return by Honeywell is a versatile controller with a torque rating of 150 in-lb, and operates on a 120V power supply with power consumption of 15 VA. It’s modulating and includes a 4-20 mA control signal, accompanied by a transformer. An integral feature of this motor is its Junction Box, providing NEMA 3 Weather Protection when it is mounted in an upright position. The models are flexible and come with adjustable start (zero) and span.
The Modutrol IV is designed to sync up with either normally open or normally closed valves and dampers, offering a holistic control solution. If encountered with power failure, an integrated spring returns the motor to its normal position, exclusively relevant to spring return models. The motor and circuitry are powered by a 24 VAC source- a standard across all models.
Installation efficiency is maximized by quick-connect terminals, or if needed, a screw terminal adapter is available. The design of the motor facilitates alignment with older models through an adapter bracket that adjusts the shaft height. The motors also support a field adjustable stroke, ranging from 90 to 160 degrees.
Factory-mounted integral auxiliary switches or field-added switches are available as well, offering operation flexibility. All models of the Modutrol IV motor come with dual shafts, slotted and tapped on both ends, along with auxiliary switch cams. Notably, a fixed torque is maintained throughout the entire voltage range.
From an operational perspective, the motor can function smoothly in conditions ranging from -40 F to 150 F (-40 C to 60 C). The electrical connections are secured using screw terminals. Encased in a sturdy die-cast aluminum housing, the Honeywell Modutrol IV Motor delivers robust, reliable performance for advanced industrial automation needs.
