The Honeywell Discharge Air Temperature Controller is specifically designed for the discharge air application. This controller fits the W7100 family control system and features a staged On/Off output. It is primarily used to maintain an average discharge air temperature in Variable Air Volume (VAV) cooling systems. To do this, it modulates an economizer and sequences the stages of mechanical cooling. This versatility aids its application to electric makeup air and other systems that require discharge air control of multi-stage heating or cooling.
The staging capacity of this controller can be increased six ways using the W7101A satellite sequencer, an addition that further amplifies the controller's capabilities. In the event of a power interruption, all stages of the system cycle off. On resumption of power, the economizer is first modulated open, assuming the enthalpy is suitable, before the sequential powering of mechanical cooling stages. If the enthalpy is not suitable for economizer operation, the first stage of cooling or heating is energized within five minutes. This streamlined reaction ensures minimal operational delays.
The controller's signal can be reset by either a space sensor or an outdoor air sensor, providing flexible operational control. In terms of technical specifications, it operates on a satisfactory power range of 20 to 30 VAC. Its operating conditions are also considerate, with the ability to function in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius). These practical, technical benefits adequately demonstrate the robust reliability of the Honeywell Discharge Air Temperature Controller.
