This Butterfly Valve produced by Honeywell, which is 2-way with a 6-inch diameter, is constructed with a flanged design, offering a Cv of 567 at a 60-degree stroke and 1850 at a 90-degree stroke. The body of the valve is made from robust cast-iron, coated with polyester that enhances its durability amidst volatile weather conditions, chemicals, ultra-violet rays, abrasion and potential impacts.
The valve also features a peroxide-cured EPDM resilient seat and a durable 416 stainless steel stem, which reduces the amount of corrosion that could affect the double-D disk connection-- ensuring long-term use. It is designed to accommodate pipe sizes from 2 to 20 inches, with ANSI Class 125/150 lug pipe connections.
The feature of bi-directional flow enhances the operational flexibility of the valve, and the extended neck permits the accommodation of 2 inches of pipe insulation. For increased corrosion resistance, reduced friction, and to facilitate the use of lower-torque actuators with larger valve body sizes, the disks are cast iron and coated with Nylon 11.
An important aspect of the valve's performance is its ability to provide bubble-tight seat leakage at its rated close-off. In terms of service, this butterfly valve is suitable for hot water and chilled water-glycol solutions. It sports an equal percentage flow characteristic and can operate efficiently in temperatures ranging from -40 F to 250 F (-40 C to 121 C) with an impressive close-off pressure of 175 psi.
