The Honeywell Butterfly Valve is a two-way, six-inch mechanism designed with a flanged polyester-coated cast iron body for improved durability and weather resistance. It enables a Cv of 567 at a 60-degree stroke and a Cv of 1850 at a 90-degree stroke. The valve seat, made from peroxide cured EPDM, is resilient to provide improved sealing and longevity. The valve also includes a 416 stainless steel stem for increased strength.
The valve comes available in sizes ranging from 2 to 20 inches, outfitted with ANSI Class 125/150 lug pipe connections. Its bi-directional flow enables versatile use, while an extended neck allows for two inches of pipe insulation. For added corrosion resistance and reduced friction, the valve employs nylon 11 coated, cast iron disks. These disks also allow the use of lower-torque actuators with larger valve body sizes.
The cast iron valve body has an additional layer of polyester coating for enhanced protection against weather elements, chemicals, ultraviolet rays, abrasion, and impact. The valve's stainless steel stem features a close-tolerance internal double-D disk connection with no points for corrosion access.
One of the major advantages of the Honeywell Butterfly Valve is that it provides bubble-tight seat leakage at the rated close-off. It is optimal for use with both hot water and chilled water-glycol solutions. The valve exhibits an equal percentage flow characteristic, and it can reliably operate at temperatures ranging from -40 F to 250 F (-40 C to 121 C). For ensured performance even under pressure, the valve has a rated close-off pressure of 175 psi.
