The Honeywell Butterfly Valve is a 2-way, 5-inch valve with an impressive flow co-efficient of 428 Cv at a 60-degree stroke and 1376 Cv at a 90-degree stroke. Its body is made from polyester-coated cast iron, contributing to durability and corrosion resistance. The resilience of its seat is guaranteed by the use of peroxide-cured EPDM material while its stem is forged from 416-grade stainless steel.
Ranging from 2 to 20 inches, this valve is adaptable to ANSI Class 125/150 lug pipe connections. This diverse sizing, combined with a bi-directional flow capability, makes it a versatile choice for various fluid control systems. An added feature is the extended neck that permits up to 2 inches of pipe insulation.
Increasing its corrosion resistance are the nylon 11 coated, cast iron disks. This coating not only protects the valve but also lowers friction, enabling the use of lower-torque actuators, especially with larger valve body sizes. Similarly, the valve body has a polyester coating that shields it against weathering, chemical substances, ultraviolet light, abrasion, and impact.
The stainless steel valve stem boasts a close-tolerance internal double-D disk connection which defies corrosion access points. This design also ensures bubble-tight seat leakage at the rated close-off.
This Honeywell valve is suitable for both hot water and chilled water-glycol solutions. It displays an equal percentage flow characteristic. The operating temperature ranges from -40 F to 250 F (-40 C to 121 C), and withstands a close-off pressure of 175 psi. This makes it robust and suitable for use in a variety of commercial and industrial applications.
