Honeywell's Butterfly Valve is a two-way control system, three inches in diameter and features a flanged design. It has a Cv of 154 at a 60-degree stroke and a Cv of 461 at a 90-degree stroke. The valve body is made of polyester-coated cast iron which provides protection against weather conditions, chemical damage, ultraviolet, abrasion and impact. For enhanced resistance to corrosion, reduced friction, and use with lower-torque actuators, it also incorporates nylon 11 coated, cast iron disks, especially with larger valve body sizes.
The valve has an extended neck allowing for two inches of pipe insulation and comes in a spectrum of sizes, from 2 to 20 inches, with ANSI Class 125/150 lug pipe connections in place. It offers bi-directional flow and a robust stem made of 416 stainless steel. This stem is designed with an internal double-D disk connection with no points for corrosion access, offering high precision.
The valve system also possesses a peroxide-cured EPDM resilient seat with a bubble tight seat leakage at the rated close-off. This level of seal ensures operational efficiency even under pressure up to 175 psi. It is adept at handling both hot water and chilled water-glycol solutions. The valve carries an equal percentage flow characteristic and performs in a wide range of operating temperatures, from -40 F to 250 F (-40 C to 121 C).
