The Honeywell Butterfly Valve is a 2-way, 18-inch device characterized by its ANSI Class 125/150 lug pipe connections, facilitating sizes from 2 to 20 inches. It boasts a bi-directional flow and an extended neck allowing for 2 inches of pipe insulation. Featuring a flanged design, the valve possesses a Cv of 5736 at a 60-degree stroke and increases to 17214 Cv at a 90-degree stroke.
The body of the valve is constructed from cast iron and is coated with polyester to enhance resistance against weather conditions, chemical interactions, UV rays, abrasion, and impacts. Incorporated into this solid piece is a 416 stainless steel stem designed with a close-tolerance internal double-D disk connection, effectively eliminating potential points for corrosion entry.
The valve also comes with nylon 11 coated, cast iron disks, ensuring not only corrosion resistance but also reducing friction. This design choice makes it compatible with lower-torque actuators in conjunction with larger valve body sizes. For operational assurance, the Honeywell Butterfly Valve features peroxide-cured EPDM resilient seats, delivering bubble-tight seat leakage at the rated close-off.
On the functional side, the valve excels in handling hot water and chilled water-glycol solutions. It promises an equal percentage flow characteristic and can operate optimally in temperatures ranging from -40 F to 250 F (-40 C to 121 C). The close-off pressure of the valve stands at a robust 150 psi.
