Fuji Electric FRENIC-Ace (E3) Variable Frequency Drives

The FRENIC-Ace (E3) is the next-generation evolution of the widely installed FRENIC-Ace E2 platform, covering 1/8 HP to 30 HP on 230 VAC and 460 VAC three-phase supplies. It keeps the E2's application focus — HVAC, pumps, fans and general industrial machinery — while improving motor control performance, efficiency and network connectivity in a compact footprint.

What the E3 generation adds

  • Improved harmonic mitigation, easing compliance where supply distortion limits are tight
  • Higher ambient temperature operation for warm plant rooms and tightly packed enclosures
  • Expanded fieldbus options, including EtherNet/IP and PROFINET via optional communication cards
  • Enhanced energy efficiency across the load curve

Carried over from the E2

Built-in PID control for closed-loop pressure and flow regulation, auto-tuning, V/f and sensorless vector control modes, and RS-485 Modbus RTU as standard. Protection covers overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, motor overload, short circuit and ground fault. The E3 remains compatible with the established FRENIC accessory ecosystem — AC line reactors, dV/dT output filters and remote keypads all carry over.

Typical applications

Building HVAC fans and pumps, process circulation pumps, conveyors, mixers, and OEM machinery where a compact general-purpose drive with modern Ethernet connectivity is required.
