National Instruments SCXI-1180

The National Instruments SCXI-1180 is a Custom Circuitry Module designed for integration within the SCXI (Signal Conditioning eXtensions for Instrumentation) product line. This module features a front panel and utilizes a 50-pin ribbon-cable assembly, facilitating the incorporation of unconditioned signals into a compact and robust SCXI chassis. The SCXI-1180 is compatible with various data acquisition systems, including PC, AT, and MC data acquisition boards, when paired with NI-DAQ software for DOS, Windows, or LabWindows environments. It can also be utilized alongside LabVIEW or NI-DAQ software for Macintosh when connected to NB Series data acquisition boards.

Occupying a single slot within the SCXI system, the SCXI-1180 allows for the convenient extension of signal lines from the rear to the front of the chassis without requiring signal conditioning. It offers seamless interfacing with cable accessories, enabling users to direct the I/O signals of individual data acquisition instruments to the front for easier access. Additionally, the SCXI-1180 can function as a daisy-chain extender when used with SCXI-1340, SCXI-1341, or SCXI-1342 cable assemblies, allowing users to access signals between a module and a plug-in board. Notably, this module is considered obsolete; however, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
