National Instruments SCXI-1167

The National Instruments SCXI-1167 Relay Switch Module is a versatile component designed for use within SCXI (Signal Conditioning eXtension for Instrumentation) systems. This module features 64 integrated channels, enabling control of up to 64 single-side stable relays and 32 two-coil latching relays, making it suitable for a variety of applications, including test system integration. The SCXI-1167 can drive small DC motors and inductive relay coils with a maximum capacity of 50 V, and it can support external power supplies to provide drive capabilities of up to 600 mA per channel.

Safety and reliability are paramount in the SCXI-1167, which includes overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanisms to safeguard internal components during high-stress conditions, thus ensuring durability and extended operational life. Additionally, the module includes an auto-reset feature that allows auto channels to recover after protection events, preventing module partitioning. For enhanced protection, a fly-back diode is incorporated to mitigate potential damage from inductive load conditions.
