The National Instruments SCXI-1112 (Part Number: 776572-12) is a high-performance thermocouple input module designed for precise signal amplification and noise filtering. This module features eight differential input channels, each equipped with a 3-pole lowpass filter that provides a 2 Hz cutoff frequency, enabling effective rejection of 60 Hz interference. The integrated amplifier offers a fixed gain of 100, allowing for optimal signal processing by multiplexing the inputs to a single output channel for connection to a data acquisition (DAQ) device.

The SCXI-1112 includes an onboard voltage reference, facilitating straightforward calibration and automatic offset voltage removal through its built-in auto-zeroing circuitry. This module is compatible with National Instruments MIO devices, specifically from the E series and SCXI-1200 modules, with the capability to multiplex multiple SCXI-1112 units into one channel to expand analog input options.

Operated via the NIDAQmx driver software, the SCXI-1112 can be utilized in various application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, ComponentWorks, and VirtualBench, thus streamlining the development process. The module supports an input signal range of ±100 mV, and maintains an input impedance of greater than 1 GΩ in powered mode and around 10 kΩ when in overload or powered off states. It has a specified bandwidth of 2 Hz, and utilizes a 96-pin male DIN C connector on the front panel in conjunction with a 50-pin male ribbon cable connector on the rear.

With dimensions of 4.54 x 10.75 inches, the SCXI-1112 operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 °C and can be stored in environments from -55 to 150 °C, while tolerating a relative humidity of 5% to 90% (non-condensing). It requires a maximum operational power of 15 mA. Although the SCXI-1112 has been announced as an End of Life product by National Instruments, it remains available for purchase and servicing through Apex Waves.
