National Instruments PXI-2564

The National Instruments PXI-2564 is a high-performance 5 A, 16-channel SPST relay module designed for PXI systems. Constructed to facilitate the switching of medium-to-high power signals, this relay module features independent, non-latching SPST relays that deliver low thermal offsets and minimal on-resistance, making it ideal for automotive, military, and automated test applications. The PXI-2564 is housed in a 3U form factor occupying a single PXI slot and comes with a 37-pin D-SUB male I/O connector. This module supports a maximum switching power of 750 VA and allows users to operate all 16 channels simultaneously at up to 5 A carry or switching current per channel.

The relays within the PXI-2564 are engineered for high reliability, boasting a mechanical relay life of up to 20 million cycles and an electrical life of 100,000 cycles. It features a switch bandwidth of 10 MHz and operates at a scan rate of 45 cycles per second. Trigger capabilities include receiving signals through PXI trigger lines with a minimum pulse width of 150 ns, while programmable trigger signal generation ranges from 1 µs to 62 µs in pulse width.

The PXI-2564 consumes 5 Watts of power at 5 V and operates effectively within a recommended temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, with a storage temperature range of -20 °C to 70 °C. Environmental considerations include an operational humidity range of 10% to 90% and a storage humidity range of 5% to 95%. Additionally, it withstands random vibrations of 0.3 grms during operation and 2.4 grms during non-operation across a frequency range of 5 Hz to 500 Hz.

For software compatibility, the PXI-2564 utilizes the NI SWITCH driver, compatible with LabVIEW, and can be easily configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
