The National Instruments PXI-1409 (Part Number: 778336-01) is an advanced IMAQ device designed for high-performance image acquisition in industrial automation applications. It features four configurable control lines, enabling precise timing signals for camera acquisition, along with support for four video sources and four external I/O lines that can serve as triggers or digital I/O. The PXI-1409 is equipped with sophisticated filtering capabilities and a 1,024 × 10-bit lookup table (LUT), allowing for the elimination of chrominance from composite color video signals and adjustable for both PAL and NTSC formats. Users can leverage the LUT to enhance imaging tasks, such as contrast adjustment, data inversion, and gamma correction.
The device integrates 16 MB of SDRAM for temporary storage of image data, facilitating efficient data exchange via the PCI bus and enabling multiple image buffers. It employs three independent onboard DMA controllers to manage data transfers between SDRAM and the PCI bus, supporting scatter-gather DMA for seamless reconfiguration and continuous image transfers to either contiguous or segmented memory buffers. Additionally, the integrated genlock circuit generates PCLK, HSYNC, and VSYNC signals synchronized with the incoming video signal, and can lock to various standard video signals, including RS-170/NTSC and CCIR/PAL, as well as support progressive scan and VGA (640 × 480 resolution) signals.
The PXI-1409 is compatible with the NI-IMAQ driver software, which works with popular programming environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Microsoft Visual Basic. Its compact form factor measures 3.9 x 6.3 inches and weighs 0.38 lb. The unit operates effectively in a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and can withstand storage temperatures from -20 °C to 70 °C. It is designed to endure operational and non-operational random vibrations of 0.31 grms and 2.5 grms, respectively, across a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz. A three-year warranty is provided, and user and maintenance manuals are available for download. Please contact a sales representative for pricing and additional information on the PXI-1409.
