The National Instruments ISM-7412 Integrated Stepper Drive and Motor Device, identified by part numbers 783601-01 and 783602-01, combines a powerful NEMA 23 motor with a stepper drive in a compact form, delivering a maximum torque of 210 oz-in. This two-in-one solution is designed for applications requiring precision motion control and features built-in Ethernet connectivity, enabling seamless operation over an existing LAN infrastructure. It is powered by an NI PS-12 or PS-13 Power Supply and includes four mounting holes for easy installation with standard screws. The device’s control circuitry and connectivity ports are conveniently located on the motor top for simple signal and cable connections.
The ISM-7412 integrates an internal fuse connected to the power supply's positive terminal, which is not user-replaceable; however, users can install a 4 A fast-acting fuse externally if needed. Additionally, the device features a sixteen-position IP address rotary switch that associates each position with a predefined IP address. With a properly configured DHCP server, the ISM-7412 can automatically obtain a valid IP address when set to position F. Although National Instruments has announced the Mature Status for the ISM-7412, it remains available for purchase and repair services through Apex Waves. Comprehensive user and maintenance manuals are provided for download, and customers can contact a sales representative for pricing information.
