National Instruments USB-6225

The National Instruments USB-6225 is a multifunction I/O device designed to deliver exceptional accuracy and rapid sampling rates, making it ideal for a variety of industrial applications. This device features 80 analog input channels, which can be configured as either 80 single-ended channels or 40 differential channels. It boasts a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) resolution, with a maximum sample rate of 250 kS/s for both single and multiple channels. The timing accuracy of the input channels is ±50 parts per million (ppm) of the sample rate, and it is recommended to allow a warm-up time of 30 minutes prior to operation, with annual calibration advised.

The USB-6225 supports several input voltage ranges, including ±0.2V, ±1V, ±5V, and ±10V, and can handle a maximum working voltage of ±11V for its analog inputs. The instrument includes an input FIFO size of 4,095 samples and overvoltage protection for all analog input and sense channels, permitting a maximum input current of ±20 mA under overvoltage conditions.

In addition to its extensive input capabilities, the USB-6225 is equipped with two analog output channels, each offering 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) resolution. The maximum update rate for a single output channel is 833 kS/s, while the combined maximum update rate for both channels is 740 kS/s. The output channels have a range of ±10V, an output impedance of 0.2 Ω, and overdrive protection up to ±25V.

The USB-6225 is available in two models, with the screw terminal version measuring 10.5 x 6.73 x 1.75 inches and weighing 2 lb, while the mass termination model is smaller at 7.4 x 6.73 x 1.75 inches and weighs 2 lb. Both models are suitable for operation in environments with temperatures ranging from 0 ºC to 45 ºC and can be stored between -20 ºC to 70 ºC, with a non-condensing humidity range of 10% to 90% relative humidity.
