Description

The National Instruments SCC-68 is a versatile terminal block designed to facilitate modular signal connectivity for low-level measurement applications. Featuring four SCC slots, the SCC-68 enables users to integrate various signal conditioning modules, including low-pass filters, strain gauges, RTDs, thermocouples, and more, into a comprehensive measurement system. This terminal block includes 68 screw terminals for easy input/output signal connections and is equipped with bus terminals for external power and grounding, enhancing flexibility in desktop measurement environments.

With a robust design that weighs 6 ounces and measures 9.63 x 7.00 x 2.09 inches, the SCC-68 is built for durability and ease of use. Its operational temperature range is from 0 to 55 °C, with a storage range of –20 to 70 °C. The unit effectively withstands operational random vibration of 0.3 grms, with a non-operational tolerance of 2.4 grms across a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz. The device supports connections to National Instruments M Series or E Series DAQ devices via compatible cables such as the RC68-68, SHC68-68-EPM, or SHC68-68.

For precise thermocouple measurements, the SCC-68 includes a temperature sensor linked to screw terminals 70 and 71, allowing for cold-junction compensation by connecting CJC+ to AI channel 7. However, for optimized accuracy, National Instruments recommends utilizing the SCC-TC Series module. The SCC-68 operates with a power requirement of 1 mA at 5 VDC without signal conditioning, and it adheres to the channel-to-earth maximum working voltage of 11 VDC, classified within Measurement Category I.

While designated as obsolete by National Instruments, the SCC-68 remains available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves. Additionally, comprehensive user and maintenance manuals are available for download. For pricing inquiries, it is advised to contact a sales representative directly.
