The National Instruments PXI-6602 Counter/Timer Module offers versatile functionality for various applications, including frequency and encoder position measurements, period measurements, event counting, pulse-train generation, and pulse-width measurements. This module features eight up/down counters/timers with a resolution of 32 bits and a maximum measure and source frequency of 80 MHz. Integrated with TTL/CMOS-compatible digital I/O, digital debouncing filters, and six trigger lines, the PXI-6602 enhances data acquisition capabilities. A notable feature is its prescaling functionality, allowing the counters to track high-frequency signals beyond the highest timebase, with 2X or 8X prescaling options for each counter that can be activated or deactivated as needed. The module operates using the NI-DAQmx driver software, ensuring compatibility with popular software packages and application development environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. The PXI-6602 measures 6.3 inches by 3.9 inches and operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, with a storage range of –20 °C to 70 °C. It is designed to endure random vibrations of 0.3 grms during operation and 2.4 grms during non-operation within a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.
