National Instruments PXI-6250

The National Instruments PXI-6250 is a high-performance PXI Multifunction I/O Module engineered for precision testing at rapid rates. This module belongs to the M Series and features the advanced NI-STC 2 system controller, NI-PGIA 2 programmable amplifier, and NI-MCal calibration technology, which collectively enhance its performance and accuracy. The PXI-6250 is equipped with a high-speed NI-PGIA 2 amplifier that offers a quick settling time at high sampling rates, ensuring 16-bit resolution across all channels even under demanding conditions. To maintain optimal performance, this module has a calibration interval of two years, necessitating external calibration at least every two years.

The design of the PXI-6250 accommodates buffered data acquisition utilizing onboard FIFO memory, with data transfer to the host PC managed through DMA or interrupts. It supports the NI-DAQmx driver software, LabVIEW SignalExpress LE for data logging, and the Measurement & Automation Explorer for configuration management. Additionally, the digital lines are capable of driving loads up to 24 mA for controlling actuators and relays. With a clocking capability of 10 MHz, the digital lines can be utilized for pulse-width modulation, making the module suitable for applications involving pumps, valves, lamps, fans, and motors.

The PXI-6250 operates within a temperature range of 0 ºC to 55 ºC and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -20 ºC to 70 ºC. It withstands non-condensing humidity levels of 10% RH to 90% RH and features random vibration resilience of 0.3 grms during operation and 2.4 grms during non-operation over a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz. Although the PXI-6250 has been designated as an obsolete product by National Instruments, it remains available for purchase and service through Apex Waves.
