National Instruments PXI-5102

The National Instruments PXI-5102 is a high-performance digitizer designed for demanding data acquisition and automated testing applications. Featuring two single-ended input channels with simultaneous sampling capabilities, the PXI-5102 delivers an analog input bandwidth of 15 MHz and a sampling rate of 20 MS/s. The device offers software-selectable attenuation that allows users to configure an input voltage range from ±50 mV to ±5 V, with the option to extend this range to ±50 V using external attenuating probes. Equipped with 663,000 samples of onboard acquisition memory, the PXI-5102 efficiently captures data before transferring it to the host PC, supporting real-time data transport. For systems with 48 MB or more of unused storage, the device can acquire up to 16 million samples.

The interactive SCOPE soft front panel facilitates intuitive operation and troubleshooting throughout the development process. Users can leverage the included NI-SCOPE instrument driver, compatible with NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio, which provides access to over 50 built-in measurement and analysis functions. These capabilities include histograms, digital filters, and time and frequency domain measurements, enabling rapid construction of automated test solutions. The PXI-5102 requires a warm-up time of 15 minutes and should undergo external calibration at least annually. It operates with a typical power consumption of 5 VDC at 550 mA. Physically, the device measures 6.3 x 3.9 inches and is rated for operation in temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 55 °C, with storage temperatures from –20 °C to 70 °C. The device's non-condensing relative humidity range is 10% to 90%.
