The National Instruments PCI-8215 is a single-board GPIB Talker/Listener designed for reliable high-speed communication in industrial automation applications. This device features a TNT5002 GPIB talker/listener ASIC, allowing for GPIB transfer rates of up to 7.7 MB/s in HS488 mode and 1.5 MB/s in 3-wire mode. The PCI-8215 utilizes a high-speed USB 2.0 connection, incorporating the NetChip NET2280 USB device ASIC to achieve data transfer rates of 30 MB/s. It is compatible with Windows 2000, NT, XP, and 98 operating systems, and operates effectively with National Instruments' NI-Device software for I/O connectivity solutions tailored to specific instruments. The board is equipped with a 32-bit universal PCI connector, which can function in both 5 V and 3.3 V PCI slots, alongside a GPIB IEEE 488.1 24-pin connector and a USB Type B receptacle.
