National Instruments PCI-6703

The National Instruments PCI-6703 is a high-performance analog output device designed for software-timed voltage output applications. This device features 16 voltage output channels with a 16-bit resolution, providing precise control over a range of 0.1 to 20.2 mA current loop, which operates within a voltage range of 0 to 10 VDC. Users can interface both floating and grounded loads, eliminating the need for an external floating power supply. The PCI-6703 is equipped with independent user-defined power-up states that allow for customized voltage outputs upon initialization.

With eight digital I/O lines, the PCI-6703 connects seamlessly to various signal types, including LEDs, transducer excitations, electromechanical relays, and solid-state relays. The device maintains signal integrity by sharing a common ground among its output channels, thus minimizing the effects of current from one channel impacting voltage readings on another. Notably, the device has a compact size of 3.9 x 6.9 inches and utilizes a 68-pin male I/O connector for easy integration into existing systems.

The PCI-6703 is compatible with NI-DAQ 7.4 and subsequent versions, as well as .NET languages, LabVIEW for Windows, ANSI C, Measurement Studio, and LabWindows/CVI for Windows, providing versatile programming options. It operates effectively within a temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, with a storage range extending from -20 to 70 °C. Although National Instruments has announced the obsolete status of the PCI-6703, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves, offering a three-year warranty and downloadable user and maintenance manuals for comprehensive support.
