The GE Fanuc IC600YB800 is a versatile parallel receiver designed for seamless integration within all Series Six I/O stations, with the exception of the first rack in a remote I/O station. This module reduces spare parts inventory by being compatible across a wide range of I/O racks. Primarily, it serves as the essential interface between the CPU and I/O modules, facilitating the transmission of address, data, and control signals. Additionally, the IC600YB800 establishes a crucial link in a daisy-chain configuration of multiple I/O racks. It features visible status LEDs on the faceplate, which simplify troubleshooting; these indicators will shut off in the event of an error, making detection straightforward. Unlike the 800B model, the IC600YB800 requires minor conversion for use in non-terminating I/O racks, specifically the removal of a pair of DIP shunts from any installed module. Despite these differences, the IC600YB800 is electrically compatible with the 800B model and can be utilized within the same rack.
