The IC200CHS005 is a spring-style I/O carrier designed by GE Fanuc for use within the VersaMax series. This robust carrier features 36 spring-clamp style terminals for efficient field wiring, facilitating backplane communications for a single input/output module. It easily mounts onto a 7.5 mm x 35 mm DIN rail, which should be electrically grounded to enhance electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and must have a conductive, corrosion-resistant finish, preferably unpainted. For applications requiring maximum resistance to shock and mechanical vibration, the IC200CHS005 should be panel-mounted. This carrier supports up to 32 input/output points and includes four shared power connections. Additionally, it incorporates keying controls to ensure the correct module type is installed, with keys adjustable to align with module controls. The module is securely fastened via a latch hole, and a protective hinged door covers wiring terminals. Each input/output module is equipped with a printed wiring card, and notches located on the lower edge allow for the attachment of auxiliary input/output terminal strips for expanded bussed connection points. The terminals accommodate field wiring with one solid or stranded wire ranging from AWG 14 to AWG 22 or up to two wires of AWG 18. The IC200CHS005 can handle maximum current levels of 8 Amperes per power and ground connection, or 2 Amperes per point, with a voltage rating of up to 264 Volts AC, and is resilient to power surges reaching 300 Volts AC. Auxiliary I/O terminal strips can be added for additional field wiring capabilities, attaching seamlessly to the lower edge of the carrier.
