The IC200CHS003 is a connector-style carrier I/O designed by GE Fanuc Automation to facilitate effective communication and connectivity within industrial control systems. Weighing 0.113 kilograms, this carrier features a robust 36-pin connector for seamless attachment of Input/Output cables, thereby enabling integration with a wide range of I/O modules. The IC200CHS003 provides essential provisions for backplane communication, mounting, and field wiring for a single I/O module, including a module latch hole for secure fastening. It supports the wiring of up to 32 input/output points and accommodates four common power connections efficiently.

This carrier is designed for effortless DIN rail mounting, with dimensions of 7.5 mm x 35 mm, ensuring a secure fit when snapped onto the rail. For electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection, it is essential that the DIN rail is electrically grounded and features a conductive, corrosion-resistant finish. Field wiring is conducted directly onto the connector style, utilizing contacts that can be crimped to the wire ends. The I/O devices can connect directly to interposing I/O terminals.

Installation of a pre-wired connecting cable is simplified; the cable connector is positioned over the carrier's connector and pressed downward to engage the latch. Removal of the cable requires lifting the latch while holding the connector. Users should exercise caution to avoid direct contact with the connector during high ambient temperature conditions, and should steer clear of exposed connector pins.

For flexibility in cable fabrication, a connector kit is available, which includes a connector and cover, six large contacts, two screws, and 36 small contacts. The IC200CHS003 carrier is compatible with all VersaMax modules, with the exception of select models due to their high isolation requirements, specifically the IC200MDL144 (240 VAC 4 Point Isolated Module) and the IC200MDD850 (Mixed 240 VAC Isolated 4 Point Output Relay, 2.0A Isolated 8 Point Module).
